I mean, live music is fine in a jazz place, etc., but generally, when I hear something played live that I already heard on a CD, I'm VERY underwhelmed. Kind of OT, but I definitely find recorded music to be FAR suprerior to live music. But that definitely would not be as memorable as camping out for tickets and seeing the show in person with a bunch of like-minded "friends." Yeah, I could have bought a cd and sat in front of my stereo system and heard the same music that was played at that concert. In addition to the fact that an Apple store stocks much more Apple products than a Wal-mart does, wandering through a brand new Apple store on opening day is a hell of a lot better experience than heading over to Wal-mart to pick up an iPod. There's no need to try to denigrate it by saying you can go to Wal-mart and get the same thing. I once camped out for concert tickets, and that experience holds almost as many memories as the concert itself. It's an event, a shared experience with other people that enjoy the same thing you do. While I didn't go, I certainly understand the temptation. Besides, in this economy, someone standing in line to spend money is a great thing to watch. Either way, money is being spent in the manner in which that person wishes to spend it. If someone wants to go to Wal-Mart to do the same, more power to them too. Besides, if I want to stay in line to have fun and spend a little money, that is my business. Another example of this is buying a quality coffee maker at a box store or at Williams-Sonoma. All I am saying is that if I am going to spend my hard earned money on an electronic product, I will do so at a place that knows the product. Did you know you can actually make an appointment for one of the sales people to devote at least an hour of quality time with you? Ask a sales clerk at a Wal-Mart a question and the only response you will get is one of a blank face. In addition to the scores of products, you have the expertise of a lot of sales people. There is more to an Apple store than looking at an I-Pod. Do I go to Wal-Mart or an Apple store to purchase an Apple product? That is a no-brainer. If not worrying about other peoples lives weren't yours or ckeegan's intentions than I apologize for thinking it was something it was not. Other than that, I have to say I am done arguing over this issue and we're just going to have to agree to disagree.
